Maria V. Michel

Maria V. Michel, age 70, died December 24, 2020 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas.

She was born August 15, 1950 the daughter of Ladislao de Soto Michel and Leandra Cardenas de Soto in Durango, Mexico.

Maria married Guerrero G. Michel on February 20, 1977 in Durango, Mexico. She became the beloved mother of two sons, Guerrero Jr., and Jesus and two daughters, Victoria and Celia and the proud grandmother to 7 grandchildren. Maria worked as a housekeeper for the Liberal Inn for over 20 years. She was a very strong-willed person that loved her husband, her children and grandkids. She loved her family and deeply missed her son.

Son, Jesus Michel of Liberal, Kansas

Daughters, Victoria and her husband Gustavo Hernandez

And Celia and her husband Ciro Hernandez all of Liberal, Kansas

Gerardo Pavia, Alexia M. Pavia, Angel F. Pavia, Joaquin S. Pavia, Natalia M. Hernandez, Cesar G. Hernandez and Caylee A. Michel.

And Catalina Nunez of Mexico

Brother, Ruben and his wife Rosa Soto of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Both her parents, her son Guerrero Michel Jr. and grandson, Alan G. Pavia.

Visitation will be 9 AM – 5 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel 1212 W. 2nd Street Liberal, Kansas.

Rosary will be 7 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 1510 N. Calhoun Avenue, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Service will be at 10 AM on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 1510 N. Calhoun Avenue, Liberal, Kansas.
