Maria De Lourdes (Martinez) Jimenez

Maria De Lourdes (Martinez) Jimenez, 60 years old, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, in Wichita, Kansas.

The daughter of Jesus Martinez Sr. and Lydia (Carmona) Martinez, she was born on February 25, 1962, in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico.

 She and Asuncion “Chon” Jimenez were married on February 28, 2006, in Elkhart, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2018.

Maria was a loved woman by many outside of her family. She was caring and had a personality that people enjoyed being around and interacting with. Maria enjoyed all things grandchildren from loving them endlessly to spending time with them as much as time allowed. Her children knew her love ran deeply for them, and she enjoyed each of them. Her hobbies included raising farm animals, going to horse races, and dancing.

Her survivors include five sons, Marcus Bucher and wife Megan, Hays, KS., Daniel Bucher, Wichita, KS., Luis Jimenez, Hugoton, KS., Gabe Jimenez and wife Barbie, Winfield, KS., Shawn Jimenez and wife Kayla, Woodward, OK.; three daughters, Angela Bucher, Manhattan, KS., Adrianna Bucher, Hugoton, KS., Brianna Bucher, Manhattan, KS.; fifteen grandchildren, Peyton Bucher, Parker Bucher, Mya Bucher, Giovanni Bucher, Lilliana Bucher, Tatiana Rueda, Arianna DeLeon, Elianna DeLeon, Issac DeLeon, Challen Jimenez, Cody Jimenez, Madison Jimenez, Zachary Jimenez, Avery Jimenez, and Carter Jimenez; three brothers, Marco Martinez, Jesse Martinez Jr., and Fernando Martinez; three sisters, Marcela Hernandez, Consuelo Martinez, and Maria de Carmen Martinez; and many other relatives and friends.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Martinez Sr. and Lydia Martinez, and husband, Chon Jimenez.

A memorial has been established for St. Helens Catholic Church, in the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 12 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Friday, December 2, 2022, from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. at Robson Funeral Home, 314 S. Van Buren, Hugoton, Kansas.

The rosary service will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, at 6 P.M. at St. Helen Catholic Church, Hugoton, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Helen Catholic Church with Father Rudin Din presiding.

Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton is overseeing the arrangements.
