Maria Celia Cruz

Maria Celia Cruz, age 76, died Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on August 25, 1945, the daughter of Jose Carmen Hernandez and Evangelyna Garcia in Zacatecas, Mexico.

Maria was married to Arnulfo P. Cruz for 58 years.
Maria lived a full life as a loving mother, grandmother, and a great homemaker. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her good cooking.

Survived by her husband, Arnulfo Cruz
Her sons, Omar Cruz, Arnulfo Cruz, Saul Hernandez, Oscar Cruz,
Her daughters, MA Socorro Cruz, Mairma Cruz, Maria de Jesus Cruz, Graciela Cruz, and Rafaela Cruz, all of Liberal
25 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren

Preceded in death by both her parents Jose Carmen Hernandez and Jose Carmen Hernandez and Evangelyna Garcia.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the Hornung Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas. Rev. Juan Salas presiding.
