Marcial Rivas, age 73, died Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton, Kansas.
He was born on March 13, 1950, the son of Eduardo Rivas and Maria De la Luz Alvarado in Mexico.
Marcial was united in marriage to Elva R. (Rios) Rivas on June 29, 1977, in Mexico. He was the father of three sons, Alan, Marco, and Jose, and two daughters, Adriana, and Elva N.
Marcial worked in fabrication for National Beef for many years. He will be fondly remembered and forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elva R. Rivas of Liberal, sons, Alan Rivas and his wife Maria Salcido of Liberal, Marco Antonio Rivas and his wife Araceli of Liberal, Jose Rivas of Liberal, daughters, Adriana Barraza and her husband, Jose of Liberal, and Elva N. Rivas also of Liberal, brothers, Ignacio Rivas, and Teodoro Rivas, sisters, Juana Rivas, Alicia Rivas, and Maria Guadalupe Rivas, nine grandchildren, Angel Rivas, Brisa, Luna, Fernando Barraza, Viridiana, Junior Rivas, Arely, Emmanuel and Graciela.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eduardo and Maria Rivas.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
Funeral Services are pending.
A burial will be in Mexico.
