Lucille Holmes, 74, of Liberal, passed away on Sunday March 31, 2024 at her home.

She was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on April 4, 1949; the third child born to Walter Holmes and Fannie Jackson Holmes.

Lucille attended Greenville Elementary and Southeast High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She served her family well as a life-long homemaker. She was just as committed to her church home;
Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas; where she professed her belief in Christ and faithfully served as a member of the usher board for many years.

Lucille was united in marriage with Mr. Earl Withers. She also spent over twenty loving years with Toussaint L’Ouverture Stanfield, who preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: Tony Ray Boykins Sr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas Kenneth Holmes and wife Carol of Turpin, Oklahoma – sisters Bernice Sullivan-James and Linda Turner of Pine Bluff, Arkansas – grandchildren Ta’Shara Holmes, Tony Boykins Jr., Terrence Holmes, Ta’Koya Hammond, Ta’Lesha Holmes, Terrell Boykins, Tieara Holmes, Kendra Ochoa, Kenneth Holmes Jr., Steven Gift, Keison Holmes, Tania Boykins, Tianna Boykins, and Zayden Gift – great-grandchildren Sha’liza Boykins, Arianna Boykins, Tyren Holmes, Trenten Holmes, Ta’Nieccia Holmes, Ter’Anee Johnson, Tony Boykins III, Ta’Liyah Johnson, Jason Hammond Jr., Jordan Hammond, and Atlas Holmes – and a host of many nieces/nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her mother Fannie Jackson Holmes, her father Walter Holmes, her oldest brother Billy Ray Jackson, and her beloved daughter Lisa D. Williams.

She was born on April 4, 1949 to Walter and Fannie (Jackson) Morgan at Pine Bluff, AR.

There will be no public viewing.

A Family Held Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday April 10th at the Turpin Baptist Church in Turpin, OK.
