Lola Jean Jacobs

Lola Jean Jacobs, 88, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away July 9, 2021 at her home.

Lola was born May 16, 1933, in Dalhart, Texas, the daughter of Forrest and Etoile Griffin Witt. She grew up in Delta, Colorado and Compton, California where she attended school. In 1946, the family moved to the Witt homeplace near Hooker, Oklahoma. She attended junior high and high school in Hooker graduating with the Class of 1951.

She was united in marriage to Bobby Jacobs on March 30, 1951 at the Witt farm. They moved from the farm to Hooker and then lived four years in Missouri after which they moved back to Tyrone and Hooker.

Lola worked as head cashier at the First National Bank of Hooker for 29 years.

She was a member of the Tyrone United Methodist Church where she played piano, services in WSCS, and was a past member of Hooker United Methodist, where she participated in UMW groups and played in bell choir.

She was a member of Hagolu and the Crochet Club; she loved reading, sewing, quilting, and knitting; her greatest enjoyment was her family. She was on the Hooker Main Street membership committee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bobby, on April 10, 2017, two sons, Gary and Cary, sister, Leann Ukens, grandson, Casey Dean Maskill, two sons in law, Bryan Mathis and Jeff Yowell.

Lola is survived by her four daughters, Elaine and Mark Hill of Hooker, Oklahoma, Yvonne Mathis of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Mira and Mike Maskill of Kansas City, Missouri, Barbara Yowell of Hugoton, Kansas; brothers, Larry and Alfreda Witt of Missouri, Jim and Anita Witt of Hooker, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Rev. Jim Reeves officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
