Lewis Orville Harrison, 92, of Tyrone , Oklahoma passed away July 16, 2023 in Liberal, Kansas. Lewis was born September 18, 1930 on the family farm near Tyrone to Fred L. and Elsie Hook Harrison. He attended Tyrone School from the first through twelfth grade. As a Tyrone Bobcat, he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball and acting in school plays. Following graduation from THS, Lewis studied agriculture at Panhandle A&M during 1948-1949. He was united in marriage to Lois Lorraine Amen on March 26, 1950 at the Bethel Church of God located north of Floris, OK. He and Lois had four children: Lloyd, Roger, David, and Linda.

Lewis lived the majority of his married life near Tyrone where he owned and operated Erlee Dawn Dairy; he also irrigated corn, milo, sunflowers, soybeans, and alfalfa. Lewis raised registered Guernsey dairy cattle and enjoyed showing them at the Panhandle Exposition in Guymon. Community service was important to Lewis, and he served on the Fair Board, on the Texas County Dairy Board, and as president of the Tyrone Alumni Association. A member of the Tyrone Baptist Church, he had roles as a trustee, teacher, and youth sponsor. He was extremely proud of his many years as a Tyrone Board of Education member. Lewis was a loyal Tyrone Bobcat booster for over 70 years. He rarely missed a THS football or basketball game over the decades and treasured watching his children in their sporting events. He loved camping and fishing, especially for crappie at Lake Eufaula.

Following his retirement, he and wife Lois spent considerable time at their second home near Canton Lake where they made many new friends and enjoyed playing card and marble games. Lewis turned a hobby of personalizing stones for family into a profitable business, Harrison Limestone. Lewis and Lois also took their camper to south Texas after the Christmas holidays for a number of years to enjoy the warmer climate. They traveled with sightseeing excursions across the continental US with car trips to California and Yellowstone, a train ride to Chicago, bus excursions from Branson to Maine, and a cruise to Alaska.
