Lawrence “Larry” Dale Bitner

Lawrence “Larry” Dale Bitner, 61, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal, Kansas.

Larry was born to Orville and Evelyn (Hetrick) Bitner on May 18, 1959, in Garden City, Kansas.

He married Traci Dee Rankin on April 6, 1990, in Elkhart, Kansas. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2019. To this union were two children; M’Lynn and Noah.

Larry’s hobbies include: running the clock at home football games, grilling burgers for the Elkhart FFA Chapter at home basketball games. He was a member of Elkhart Booster Club and supported his alma mater the Rolla Pirates by attending games. Larry worked for the Morton County Road Department for 37 years and when not at work he spent most of his time working on various projects.

He is survived by two children; Noah Bitner, Elkhart, KS., and M’Lynn Bitner Smith and husband Avery, Ellis, KS.; eight siblings, Barbara Myers, Rolla, KS., Carole Bryant, Wichita, KS., Phylis Clair, Hugoton, KS., Cindy Bitner Medina, Salina, KS., Becky Jo Romes, Garden City, KS., Kay Larson, St. Louis MO., Alan Bitner, Lansing, KS., and Van Bitner, Haviland, KS; and many other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Evelyn and wife, Traci.

A memorial has been established for Elkhart FFA. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020, 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. at Robson Funeral Home, Elkhart.

Graveside service will be Friday, December 11, 2020 at 10 A.M. at Elkhart Cemetery with Pastor Gary Talbert presiding.

Robson Funeral Home, Elkhart is in charge of arrangements.
