Lavonne F. Loewen

Lavonne F. Loewen, age 75, passed away early Friday morning, November 3, 2023, at her Meade residence.

She was born November 30, 1947, in rural Meade County, Kansas, the daughter of Jake J. and Lena D. (Harms) Isaac. As a young girl, she attended the Pleasant Hill and Sunrise Elementary Schools and later graduating from the Meade Bible Academy.

On November 27, 1965, she married Stanley L. Loewen at the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church, rural Meade. After their marriage the couple resided in several locations, returning to Meade in 2006. She was a receptionist at the Meade District Hospital for several years.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church and enjoyed traveling, playing the piano and organ, and spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley of the home; two sons, Shawn Loewen of Williamston, Michigan, and Travis Loewen of Meade; two brothers, Jerry Isaac of New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, and Gary Isaac of Tucson, Arizona, and five grandchildren, Patrick, Austin, Winona, Cheyenne, and Cody.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dean Isaac and Virgil Isaac; and a sister, Janet Bartel.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will follow the service in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the Meade District Hospital in care of the funeral home.
