Kye Michael Toole, age 21, of Manter, Kansas, was born June 03, 2002, in Ulysses, Kansas, and departed June 21, 2023, in Wichita, Kansas.

He was a resident of Manter, Kansas, where he lived with his foster parents, Angel and Amelia Hernandez.

He is the son of Dustin Toole who was a resident of Manter and currently living in Meade, Kansas.

Kyle was special needs with Severe Christianson Syndrome, which caused him to be fully dependent. His health began to decline over the years because of this syndrome.

Amelia (Vargas) began as Kye and his brother Jase’s daycare provider, and then later became their foster mother. Amelia has cared for him for over 17 years. Over those 17 years of care in the Hernandez/Vargas family, he was cared for and loved by his foster family, gaining bonus siblings who were part of his life since he was 3 years old. He was known as Uncle Kye to all their children. His nieces and nephews all loved him very much.

Kye is survived by his father, Dustin Toole of Meade; foster parents, Angel and Amelia (Vargas) Hernandez of Manter; brother, Jase Toole of the home; brother, Nash Toole of Johnson; grandparents, Bobbie Kay Harmon and David Adkins of Fresno, California; uncle, James Wade and Tessa Toole of North Platte, Nebraska; several Toole aunts, uncles and cousins; foster siblings, Ysabel Vargas of Granada, Colorado, Nonie (Johan) Aguirre of Granada, Colorado, Gerarda Vargas of Johnson, and Victoria Martinez (Vargas) of Johnson; and several bonus aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Kye is preceded in death by his grandfather, Lonnie J. Toole; great-grandparents, James (Jim) and Juan (June) Bernice Toole; uncle, Alan L. Toole; great-grandparents, Clifford and Della Harmon; and great-uncle, Dan Romero.

Rosary will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 30, 2023, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Johnson, with Reverend Charles Seiwert officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
