Kay Anita (Youngren) Murray
Kay Anita Murray, 80, Hugoton, KS., passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at Morton County Hospital, Elkhart, KS.
Kay was born to Amos Vincent Youngren Jr. and Katie Mae (Stuart) Youngren, October 30, 1938, in Hugo, CO. Kay and James “Jim” William Murray were married November 14, 1961, in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death in 1985. To this union two sons were added, Jim and Vincent.
Kay was raised in Hugo, CO., and she graduated from Genoa-Hugo High School. She went to college and graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts.
Kay was a member of United Methodist Church of Hugoton. She was also a member of PEO Chapter GC of Hugoton.
Kay loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, oil painting, china painting, traveling, and playing cards.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Murray and wife Suzanne, Rolla, KS., Vincent Murray and wife Amy, Ness City, KS.; a sister, Rayleene Thompson, Hugo, CO.; four granddaughters: Katie Murray, Taylor Murray, Gracie Karst, and Emma Karst, and other relatives and friends.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, David Thompson.
A memorial has been established for United Methodist Church. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 21, 2019, 2 PM to 8 PM, Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
Funeral service will be Monday, July 22, 2019, 10 AM at United Methodist Church, Hugoton with Carol Swinney presiding, followed by burial at Hugoton Cemetery.
