Katherine I. Pierce, 79, of Guymon passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Twin Oaks Manor in Booker TX. Her loving husband and daughter were with her.

The daughter of MG and Ethelyn Shaw, she was born October 31, 1944 in Liberal KS. She attended school in Hooker OK and graduated high school in 1962. She also attended Panhandle State University for a short time.

She was united in marriage to Thomas M. Pierce on November 21, 1964 in Guymon at the Catholic Church Parsonage. They lived on the Kaiser Ranch northwest of Guymon for 22 years. They raised their children there and were very involved in the Yarbrough community. In 1986 they moved just north of Guymon to the Pierce family land where Tom still resides.

Kathy was very involved in her children’s lives. She was a Cub Scout and Brownie leader. She ran Cub Scout Day Camp several years. She attended all their sporting events and travelled some with Speech and Band events. She worked on the farm during harvest and was deemed by her husband as “one of the BEST truck drivers!” She went to work for Walmart in Guymon after the move, where she spent 25 years serving people and making great friends. These friends still got together to eat, laugh and share memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Gerald Shaw.
