MEADE – Junior L. Ediger, age 82, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 19, 2019, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.

He was born March 30, 1937, at Meade, Kansas, the son of John N. and Martha E. (Harder) Ediger. As a young boy he attended school in rural Meade County and later graduated from the Meade Bible Academy in 1955. He later attended Kansas State University and Sterling College. After his education, he returned to Meade and began working at Wolfe Motor and a career in farming, ranching, and working the oil fields.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, attending sporting events, and especially spending time with his family.

On April 26, 1957, he married Vicki Carmichael at Lyons, Kansas She survives.

Other survivors included four sons, Mike Ediger of Meade, Marc Ediger and wife Tina of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jeff Ediger and wife Jacque of Caldwell, Kansas, and David Ediger and wife Michelle of Hillsboro, Kansas; a daughter Kym Winter of Ashland, Kansas; a sister, Elvira Scherling of Denver, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, including Genevieve Ediger.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the Talitia Cumi Orphanage or the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in care of funeral home.
