Josephine “JO” Lydia Ungles

Josephine “JO” Lydia Ungles, 91, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at Satanta Long Term Care Unit, Satanta, Kansas.

She was the daughter of Raymond Frances and Fern Elizebeth (Naugle) White. Josephine was born October 3, 1930, in Smyrna, Turkey.

She and James (Jim) Max Ungles were married on July 13, 1951, in Meade, Kansas. To this union were three children, Joel Mark, Jon Raymond, and Jill Ann. James preceded her in death in 1998.
Jo graduated from Larned High School and went to the University of Kansas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked for Satanta District Hospital for 40 plus years. She loved and cared for her patients.

Along with her love for her community was the Cimmaron Valley Golf Course. She dedicated her time and love to help make it the golf course it is today.

Jo was a member of the United Methodist Church of Satanta.

A memorial has been established for the Kansas Endowment. In the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 747, Satanta, Kansas 67870.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 5, 2022, from 2 PM to 6 PM, and Monday, June 6, 2022, from 10 AM to 8 PM, Robson Funeral Home, Satanta.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 2 PM, at United Methodist Church, in Satanta, Kansas with Pastor Elizabeth Young.

Robson Funeral Home, Satanta is overseeing the arrangements.
