Johnny Pineda, 72, died on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at his residence in Liberal, Kansas.
He was born on February 20, 1954, in Ulysses, Kansas to Juan and Elidia (Pacheco) Pineda.
Johnny worked for many years in the Oil Fields as a Head Derrick Hand.
He loved fishing, hunting and playing pool. His pastimes included watching western movies and listening to music.
Johnny is survived by his sons,
Juan “Johnny” Pineda and his wife Jeanette of Garden City, Kansas
Jason Lee Pineda and his wife Mary of Cimarron, Kansas
Daughters,
Amanda Arredondo and her husband Luis of Garden City, Kansas
Dulce Johanna Pineda of Liberal, Kansas
Cousin Jessie Gale Archuleta of Ulysses, Kansas
11 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren
His brother, Joe Pineda and his sister Bernice Ruybal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 9am to 5pm at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd St., Liberal, Kansas.
Rosary will be at 5pm on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10am at Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Seiwert will officiate the Funeral Service outside of Mass.
Cremation will take place.
