John Cannaley, age 63, died Friday, January 24, 2020 at Hospice House in Olathe Kansas.

He was born August 13, 1956 in Liberal, Kansas, the son of Cletus and Mary Lou (Woods) Cannaley

He graduated from Liberal High School in 1974
John married Marla Kay Holifield on September 17, 1977 in Liberal.
He worked in the oil fields.

He enjoyed fishing, golf and was very handy at refurbishing Vintage Furniture and making lamps from old alcohol bottles. He was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas University Jay Hawks and the Kansas City Royals. His Greatest pleasure were his 8 cherished grandchildren, who lovingly called him Grandpa, Poppy or Poppa.

Survivors include: his wife of 42 years Marla.

Son Mike (Charisse) Cannaley of Spring Hill, Kansas.

Daughter Carissa (Angela) Brock of Liberal, Kansas.

Brothers Joe Cannaley of Garden City.

Grandchildren Austin Orozco, Gaige Harp, Madyson Harp, Brittney Cannaley, Treiy Harp, Chloe Cannaley, Cadence Brock, Brayden Cannaley.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Mary Lou (Woods) Cannaley.

Visitation will be Monday January 27, 2019, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will Tuesday January 28, 2020 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Rex Petty Presiding. Both will be held at the Brenneman-Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 West 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas 67901.
Interment will take place at the Liberal Cemetery.
