Jimmie Farr, age 75, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his residence in Liberal, Kansas.

 

He was born on October 8, 1946, the son of Darcy “Bud” Willard Farr and Alliene (Bowling) Farr in Binger, Oklahoma.

 

Jimmie graduated in 1964 from Binger High School in Binger, Oklahoma and went on to earn his Associates Degree. He married Sharon Ann Lee on December 31, 1968, in Binger, Oklahoma. Together they raised three children, Dale, Tammy and Mindi. Jimmie was an Oil and Gas Production Supervisor for Phillips Petroleum and a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. He loved watching car racing and being involved in his grandchildren’s sporting events. Jimmie found many quiet ways to volunteer and help others.  He belonged to Texas Baptist Disaster Relief, traveling to many places of devastation to provide assistance, food, and clean water for disaster victims.

His wife of 53 years, Sharon Farr of Liberal, Kansas

One son, Dale Farr of Dallas, Texas

Two daughters, Tammy Dupree (Lori) of Austin, Texas and

Mindi Ormiston (Dustin) of Liberal, Kansas

Two sisters, Arlene Bordwine of Binger, Oklahoma and 

Darlene Priddy of Edmond, Oklahoma

Grandchildren, Elizabeth Farr, Blade Ince (Molly), and Jenna Ormiston

Great Grandchildren, Luke Ince, Lilliana Ince, and Stella Farr

 

Preceded in death by both his parents, Darcy “Bud” Willard Farr and Alliene Farr, and grandson, Logan Ince.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. Family will be present from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM to receive friends.

 

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at First Southern Baptist Church, 621 N. Western, Liberal, Kansas.  Pastor Randy Cadell presiding.

 

Graveside Service will be on Monday, January 17, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Graceland Cemetery in Bridgeport, Oklahoma.
