Jesus Esparza Alvarado, age 60, died on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at his residence in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on April 6, 1966, in Delicias Chihuahua, Mexico, to Manuel Esparza Gomez and Manuela Alvarado Marquez.

Jesus had a high school education and worked as a Derrick Hand in the oilfield. He was united in marriage to Paulina Esparza in March of 1992 in Rosales, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Jesus was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jesus was a hardworking man. He was very friendly and always put others first. He enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music, reading, and above all, working. Jesus never took days off and when he did, he continued to work at home with building projects, mechanic work, carpentry, and farming. He adored his granddaughters and kids more than anything and always made sure his family had what they needed.

Visitation will be at 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM, Monday, May 25, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Reverend Charles Seiwert will be officiating.

A burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
