MEADE – Jeffery D. (Jeff) Christensen, age 57, passed away early Sunday morning, August 30, 2020, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade, Kansas.

He was born May 6, 1963, at San Jose, California, the son of Leslie David and Jeanne Mae (Miller) Christensen. As a young boy he attended school in Haviland, Kansas, and graduated in 1981. He later attended Barclay College and Fort Hays State University. A resident of Meade since February, 2017, he was a grain merchandiser for the Sublette Co-Op

He was a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade. He enjoyed models, in particular tanks, reading, biking, golfing, comic books, watching NASCAR, studying history, music, dining at In and Out Burger and spending time with his family and friends.

On July 15, 2001, he married Shari Tilley at Haviland, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include, three daughters, Heather Long and husband Brock of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Lauren and Shelby Christensen, both of Meade; a son, Michael Tilley and wife Branda of Fowler, Kansas; his parents, Leslie and Jeanne Christensen, of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Michael Christensen and wife Lisa of Grandview, Missouri, and Matthew Christensen and wife Rachel of Springfield, Missouri; and a sister, Krista Ledman and husband Eric of Houston, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Dave & Gail Evinger of Dodge City, Kansas; aunts and uncle, Vangie Head, Vicki Gilliland, Lois Christensen, Sally Adelblue, Debbie Roper, and Wayne Christensen; nieces and nephews, Amy Fink and husband Andrew, Cole Ledman, and Greg Slusser; and great-niece and nephew, Samuel and Abigail.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Following visitation, cremation will take place with memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade.

Attendance at service will follow the guidelines set for social distancing to be maintained. This is for safety and the best interest of community health.
