Jeffrey A. Smith, age 54, died Sunday, September 4, 2016, in rural Meade County, Kansas.
He was born June 19, 1962, at Takoma, Washington, the son of Herman Lee and Genevieve M. (Hobbs) Smith. As a young boy he attended the Meade school system, graduating from Meade High School in 1980. A lifetime resident of Meade, he had worked for the Meade Co-Op, Home Lumber and Supply as manager for twenty-four years, and for Circle H.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Meade, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed model railroading, reading, and baking.
He is survived by:
His mother, Genevieve Smith of rural Meade, Kansas
Two sisters, Audrey Flowers of Meade, Kansas
Linda Kastens of Meade, Kansas
A nephew, and five nieces, Steven, Robin, Kristen, Emily, Amanda, and Sarah
He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Meade. Inurment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade. Cremation has taken place.
The family would welcome memorials to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
