Jamison G. Lewis, 47, of Liberal, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born on December 27, 1974 to James and Gwendolyn (Dunlap) Lewis at Liberal, KS.

Jamison attended Liberal High School where he played Football; he was a class of 1993 graduate. Jamison went on to study Social Work through Butler County Community College,from which he graduated from in 1995. After college he moved to Norfolk, VA to play football and then returned back to his hometown. Jamison went to work at National Beef Packing Co in 1997. In 2000 he went to work for Seward County as a Sergeant and later transferred to Court Services; he was with Seward County for a little over 20 years. He was currently a Security Officer at Seward County Community College. He participated in leadership classes for LEAD, a program that he was very passionate about. Jamison enjoyed working with Liberal’s youth and was also a coach with the city recreational league. He also enjoyed fishing, watching football, shooting at the shooting range, but most of all, Jamison loved being with his wife and family. Jamison was an ordained Elder at Bibleway C.O.G.I.C., where he taught Sunday School and grew spiritually in God’s word.

Jamison is survived by his loving wife Tawanda, Two Daughters, Mercedes Adams of Liberal, KS, Briana Adams of Liberal, KS; Mother, Gwendolyn Dunlap Lewis of Liberal, KS; Two Brothers, Eddie Lewis and wife Kodi of Omaha, NE, Jordan Richard Nicolas “Nicki” Lewis and wife Benita of Hutchinson, KS; Two Sisters, Stefanie Lewis and husband Pablo of Williston, ND, Mia Jones and husband Russell of Atlanta, GA; a host of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by Father, James Arthur Lewis, Grandfather, Richard Dunlap, Sr. and Aunt, Tina Dunlap.

Viewing will be 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, February 18, 2022, at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Liberal.

Burial will take place in the Liberal City Cemetery.
