Jack Eslick: UPDATE

Jack Eslick, age 84, of Ulysses, Kansas died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born in his Dad’s hotel on November 5, 1928 in Walsh, Colorado, the son of Earl and Leota (Hannafious) Eslick.

Jack grew up in Walsh, Colorado and graduated from Walsh High School. One of his first jobs was working at the Wilburton Elevator. From 1955 until 1976 Jack worked at the Gano Elevator in Hickok, Kansas. From 1976 to present, he did various farm related jobs. For many years, Jack trained race horses and was involved in horse racing. He enjoyed watching sports and attending his kids and grandkids activities.

He is survived by two sons, Courtney Eslick and wife Darlene of Ulysses, Kansas, Shane Eslick and wife Denny of Lakin, Kansas; daughter, Jackie Peters and husband Allan of Great Bend, Kansas; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Garold, Cecil, Mildred Janney, Alfred, Harold, Calvin, Jack, and Harley.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor Jon Becker officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Big Orange Boosters in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
