J.C. Webb, age 91, of Manter, Kansas, died Friday, November 5, 2021 at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson.  He was born September 21, 1930, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of James Carl and Esther Bessie (Smith) Webb.

J.C. came to Stanton County as a small child.  He married Donna Jean Kilgore on July 24, 1955, at her parent’s home in Manter.  J.C. drove a maintainer for Stanton County Road and Bridge.  After J.C. retired, he could be found helping neighbors and family during harvest.  He would take daily drives in the county keeping track of everything.  A devoted husband and father, J.C. would visit with his family every day.

J.C. is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, James Charles Webb of Manter, and Greg Webb and wife Julie of Glendale, Arizona; daughters, Cynthia Williamson and husband Rick of Johnson, and Stephanie Westeman and husband Mike of Syracuse; five grandchildren, Michael Williamson and wife Megan, Chantry Williamson, Ashley Webb, Tyler Theis and husband Brad, and Mandy Palmer and husband Clint; three great-grandchildren, Emelin Williamson, Marin Williamson, and Aubrey Palmer; and sister-in-law, Arlene Nichols of Johnson.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents. 

 

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM (CST) on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Stanton County Cemetery with Reverend Kurt Rovenstine officiating.  The service will also be streamed live on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page.  Friends may call from 11:00 AM (CST) until 7:00 PM (CST) on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church or Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.  Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com.
