Ignacio Franco Rocha, age 73, died Friday, April 21, 2023, at his residence in Liberal, Kansas.
He was born on November 13, 1949, in Cd Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico to Francisco Franco Luevano and Vicenta Rocha Luevano.
On November 27, 1974, Ignacio was united in marriage to Teresa Vazquez. They had a long and loving marriage for 47 years until her death on May 27, 2021. Together they raised three beautiful daughters, Carmen, Patricia “Pati”, and Maria “Lupita” Guadalupe. Ignacio worked at Sublette Coop for many years. He was hired as a laborer and worked himself up to a supervisor. Ignacio loved raising and riding horses, spending time with his friends, and eating good food. He blessed us with his life, his laughter, and his love.
He is survived by his daughters, Carmen Hernandez of Mexico, Patricia “Pati” Talley of Asheboro, North Carolina, and Maria “Lupita” Guadalupe Aguliar (Javier) of Yukon, Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, Jazmine Hernandez, Javier Guzman, Jordan Daniel Franco, Isabella Franco, Quintaveous White, Keylin Talley, Mariyvette Aguilar, Eli Aguilar, and Julian Aguilar, three great grandchildren, Joselyn, Jeffrey, and Esmeralda, siblings, Manuel Franco Rocha, Ancelmo Franco Rocha, Genaro Franco Rocha, Lucila Franco Rocha, Berta Franco Rocha, Socorro Franco Rocha, Filomena Franco Rocha, and Dominga Franco Rocha.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Franco Vazquez,
Both his parents, Francisco Franco and Vicenta Rocha, grandparents, siblings, Donicio Franco Rocha, Raul Franco Rocha, Tomas Franco Rocha, Martha Franco Rocha, Trinidad Franco Rocha, and Rosa Franco Rocha.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
Vigil Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM, on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 28, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas. Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Augustine Owusu.
A burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
