Harry Thomas Scheib, 91, of Liberal, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Beaver County Nursing Home, Beaver, Oklahoma.
He was born June 10, 1926 in Bucklin, Kansas the son of John T. and Harriet (Yoakum) Scheib. On August 4, 1960 he married Maxiene Gum Hensley, a widow with 5 young children. Harry became a instant father to his step children. Harry and Maxiene were further blessed with a son, Mark in 1961. They celebrated 46 years of marriage prior to Maxiene’s passing on August 12, 2006. Harry graduated from Bucklin High School in 1943 and farmed in the area until he and Maxiene moved to Liberal in 1978. They later lived in Broomfield, Colorado briefly before returning to Liberal.
Harry is survived by sons; Bryan (Diane) Hensley, Liberal, Kansas; Brant (Linda) Hensley, Mead, Oklahoma; daughter, Anita (Bob) Carroll, Ardmore, Oklahoma; son-in-law, Denis Brothers, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Sheila Hensley, Arkansas; grandchildren; Shawn, Chris, Josh, Matt and Lane Hensley, Jason, Jennifer and Jamie Brothers, Kyle, Kevin, Kim and Kelly Carroll, Brandon and Blaine Hensley, Danielle Thoele, Garrett Hensley and Erin Arnett; great grandchildren, Caden, Rhett, Emily, Easton, Peyton, Macy, Claire, Lexi, Teagan, Skyler, Easton, Logan, Karlie, Linkon, Liam, Bradan, Alana, Creedence, Braiden, MaKenna, Caden, Addison, Sam, Josh, Christian, Paisley, William, Conway, Lily, Bryce and one coming in August.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Lawrence Scheib, sons, Mark Scheib and Bryce Hensley, daughter, Lynda Hensley Brothers, grandson, Christopher Kruse and great grandson, Cody Hensley.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Beaver County Nursing Home for the excellent care Harry received.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Ford Cemetery, Ford with Rev. Randall Jahnke officiating.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association in care of Minnis Mortuary, P.O. Box 516, Bucklin, Kansas 67834.
