Harold Dean Nordyke

Harold Dean Nordyke, 69, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital, in Garden City, Kansas. He was the son of Robert Willis and Cleora (Greenwood) Nordyke. He was born December 17, 1952, in Hugoton, Kansas.

He and Carole Marlene Oursler were married on February 6, 1982, at the First Christian Church in Hugoton. They just recently celebrated 40 years of marriage.

Harold loved to play golf at the Forewinds Golf Club in Hugoton. If he wasn’t found there, he was seen walking his dog or at the Stevens County Fitness Center. He also enjoyed hunting with his son and brothers. Harold also spent a lot of time working on projects with Paul, Karessa, and Austin. He was a graduate of Panhandle State University, Goodwell, Oklahoma, and an avid KU basketball fan.

Survivors include loving wife, Carole Nordyke, Hugoton, KS.; son, Paul Nordyke and wife Shannon, Hugoton, KS.; two grandchildren, Karessa Nordyke, Perryton, TX., and Austin Nordyke, Kechi, KS., two brothers, Rodney Nordyke and wife Robyn, Ulysses, KS., and John Nordyke and wife Doris, Colorado Springs, CO.; sister, Pat Bishop and husband Les, Leoti, KS.; sister in law, Becky Nordyke, Wichita, KS.; brother in law, Charles Oursler and wife Linda, Grove, OK.; numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Nordyke.

A memorial has been established for Hugoton FFA Alumni. In the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 2 PM to 8 PM and Friday, April 8, 2022, from 10 AM to 8 PM, at Robson Funeral Home, 314 S. Van Buren, Hugoton, Kansas.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 10 AM, at Hugoton Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Stafford presiding. Burial to follow at Hugoton Cemetery.

Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton is overseeing the arrangements.
