Gayle Noreen Walker of Dighton, KS formerly of Liberal, KS left this world on October 7, 2022 at Ness County Hospital in Ness City, Kansas. Came into this word on the 28th Oct.1951 at Stevens Co. Hospital, Hugoton, Stevens Co. Kansas to Edgar E. (Buss) and Hazel Scarbrough Walker.

Many people knew her either by Gayle or Noreen. Gayle graduated from Hugoton High School. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 2012, for three of those years she was the Registrar. Also a genealogist for 25 years plus and a member of the NRA. She was Baptized on the 27th of June, 2010 by her cousin Doyle McMillan and his step- son at Back Creek, Kelley Gap, Tennessee. After receiving her certificate to practice massage therapy in 1997, Gayle grandfathered along with many massage therapist working with a congressman from Missouri for two and a half years to pass a law to enforce rules and regulations on the practicing and continuing education of the health and wellness of massage therapy. As being a licensed massage therapist she worked five running summers at the Star Light Theater giving massages to many famous actors, actresses of movies, TV and theater.

Gayle met many people through her walk of life, helped them when she could. More times than not she had a smile on her face, ready to extend her hand or give you a big hug. She loved riding horses, fishing, hunting, dancing, drag racing in her younger years of life, interior decorating. Helping family’s connect to their past family members through genealogy research.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Tara D. and Shawn Stahle; one son, Jason L. Kauffman, one sister and brother- in-law, Rochelle and Edward Scott, also grandmother of four granddaughters, two grandsons; a great-grandmother of three great-granddaughters, two great grandsons; life partner, Greg Greenwald; a few cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents; two brothers; Gary A. Walker and Leland A. Walker; husband, James Kauffman.

There will be no public viewing.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Saturday October 15, 2022 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with Brother Don Martin, officiating.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
