Franklin D. Goldsby

Franklin D. Goldsby, age 72, of Ulysses, Kansas departed this life and entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas. The loss we feel here on earth is truly heaven’s gain. Frank was born July 11, 1940 in Grundy County, Missouri, the youngest child of Ray and Mary Lee (Gott) Goldsby. Frank came to Kansas at the age of 2 with his family.

Frank served in the National Guard for eight years. He worked for KDOT and Grant County Road Department as a supervisor for over 38 years. Frank served on the boards for Zoning, Solid Waster and Emergency Preparedness.

On February 21, 1964, he married Sue Craig in Hooker, Oklahoma, she survives. He is also survived by one son, Hunter Goldsby and his wife Pam of Berwyn, Nebraska; one daughter, Suzette Goldsby-Lewis and husband Andra of Garden City, Kansas; three grandchildren, JJ Kuta, Jennie Franzen and husband Dirk, and Devontae Goldsby; a great-granddaughter, Haley Sue; a great-grandson, Dexter; brother, Edwin Goldsby and wife Jean of Trenton, Missouri; and sister Viola May Bland and husband Gene of Prague, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Calvin Dale Goldsby.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the New Life Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor Kerry Rosfeld officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call Friday, March 22, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to the New Life Church or The Grant County Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
