Francisca Antúnez, age 82. died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at her residence in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on December 3, 1940, to Marcos Reyes Acosta and Maria Reyes Vidańa in Santa María del Oro Durango.

Francisca was united in marriage to Hector Efrain Antúnez Banuelos on December 7, 1966, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Hector proceeded her in death on December 12, 2019. She was the mother of two sons, Hector Javier, and Arturo, and three daughters, Luz, Norma Angelica, and Elvia. Francisca lived in Mexico for 70 years before moving to Liberal, Kansas to be near her family. Francisca created a lot of joy and provided comfort to many during her life as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Hector Javier Antúnez (Maria) of Clute, Texas, and Arturo Antúnez of Liberal, Kansas; daughters, Luz Desormaux (Ernesto) of Liberal, Kansas, Norma Angelica Antúnez Reyes of Guadalajara, Mexico, and Elvia Antúnez Saenz (Raul) of El Paso, Texas;
Three brothers, Vicente Reyes, Florentino Reyes, and Arsenio Reyes;
six sisters, Maria de Jesus Reyes of LaFeria, Texas, Isabel Reyes of Lasing, Illinois, Maria Ines Reyes, Burbank, Illinois, Juliana Reyes, Josefina Reyes De Favela of Chicago, Illinois, and Belen Reyes;
Twelve grandchildren, Mariana, Elena, Francisco, Alejandra, Ernesto, Chantal, Benjamin, Paulina, Norma, Mitzy, Ulisses, Alexander; and
Four great grandchildren, Cain, Abel, Dylan, Antonella.

She is preceded in death by both parents, Marcos Reyes Acosta and Maria Reyes Vidańa;
Brothers, Vicente, and Florentino; and
Granddaughter, Mariana.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM , followed by the rosary at 5:00 PM both at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 17, 2023, at 2:00 PM at St. Anthony of Padua, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Juan Salas.

Entombment will take place in her home country of Mexico with her husband.
