Feryl E. Boyd, age 71, passed away early Friday morning, February 22, 2019, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade, Kansas.

She was born in rural Fowler, Kansas, the daughter of George Henry and Leola Maxine (Marrs) Butler. As a young girl, she attended school in Ashland, Kansas, graduating from Ashland High School.  She later attended Dodge City Community College receiving her degree in cosmetology.  As resident of Meade since 2012, moving from Cimarron, Kansas, she was a feed mill manager for Dekalb for twenty-eight years, a beauty salon operator for many years, and was previously working for U Pump It in Meade.

She was married to Ralph Hawley for several years.  She enjoyed being with her family and friends, but was most fond of being with her grandchildren and attending their many events.

She is survived by two sons, Robbie Hawley and wife Stacy of Cimarron, and Rockie Hawley and wife Janice of rural Meade; a daughter, Georgia Bateman of Meade; her mother Leola Butler Brown of Nickerson, Kansas; two brothers, David Butler of Pampa, Texas, and Walter Butler of Emporia, Kansas; three sisters, Sue Tucker of Burr Oak, Kansas, Diana Sneed of Nickerson, Kansas, and Marvina Schimmels of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Ashlie, Tyler, Emili, Krysta, Raegan, Raechal, Troy, Zachary, and Liz; and three great-grandchildren, Paisley, William, and Leighton.

She is preceded in death by her father and a brother, G.W. Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 27, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, Meade. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Interment will follow the service in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home.
