Faye Mildred Ormiston

Faye Mildred Ormiston, age 95, died on Thursday, July 8, 2021, in Austin, Texas.

 

She was born on October 26, 1925, daughter of Cornelius L. and Therasia Ediger in Corn Oklahoma.

 

Mildred graduated from Turpin High School in Turpin, Oklahoma. On February 26, 1950, she married Francis W. Ormiston at the Turpin Mennonite Church in Turpin, Oklahoma. Francis proceeded her in death on February 14, 2001, after 50 years of marriage. Mildred taught at the Turpin Elementary School and worked at a bank in Liberal, Kansas. She was highly active in the community and belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Kismet United Methodist Church, the Supper Club and Liberal Investment Club. All of these involvements brought decades of friendships. She also taught art and sewing classes for many organizations such as the Baker Arts Center. 

Survived by: 

Two sons, Rock and his wife, Stephanie Ormiston of Kismet, Kansas

Greg and his wife Robin of Austin, Texas

Two Daughters, Kandi Morley and her husband, Robert of Austin, Texas

Deborah Bavousett and her husband, Farris of Ft. Worth, Texas

Nine grandchildren, Kelsi Little, Rocky Ormiston, Katie Frymire, Garson Ormiston, Mary Kim,  Ferrin Bavousett, Farrah Bavousett, Zane Morley and Ty Morley

Four great grandchildren, Mila Ormiston, Parker Jantz, Charlotte Frymire and Paige Witzke

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Ormiston 

Both her parents, Cornelius L. and Therasia Ediger 

Her brother, Bill Ediger and

Grandchild, Lincoln Bavousett

 

Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Friday, July 16, 2021. The family will be present from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM to greet friends at the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Street Liberal, Kansas 

 

Funeral Service will be 10 AM Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the Kismet United Methodist Church in Kismet, Kansas with Reverend Kyle Woodrow presiding.

 

Interment will follow at the Kismet Cemetery.  

 

Memorial donations suggested to Kismet United Methodist Church in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home.
