Evelyn E. Wheatcroft, age 101, died Thursday, September 5, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born March 5, 1918 in Osawatomie, Kansas, the daughter of H.C. and Hettie (Tenny) Baker

Evelyn graduated from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1935.

She married J. K Bryan, who proceeded her in death on December 4, 2006. She married Glen L. Wheatcroft in Clayton, New Mexico on August 21, 1965. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2008. They were married for 42 years.

She was a Postal Clerk for the U.S. Post Office.

Evelyn was a member of the Eastern Star being worthy matron for 2 years. She enjoyed shopping always making sure she had scarfs or jewelry to ensure her outfit was perfectly coordinated. She was an avid quilter, gardener, and world traveler. Among all these hobbies, working, and devoting time with her family, she still made time to go fishing.

Survivors include:

Loving daughter Phyllis Smith and her husband, Orvil of Liberal. 2 Stepsons

She was the beloved Grandmother of Alan (Danine) Smith, Michelle (Jerry Bremenkamp, Kim Knudsen, Keith (Barbara) Bryan, Kristin McIntyre, Brittany Wheatcroft, Griffin Wheatcroft, Chelsea Wheatcroft. She was the proud Great Grandmother of 11 and Great Great Grandmother of 3.

Evelyn was preceded in death by Her Parents, 2 sons Larry James Bryan and Donald Gene Bryan, sister Dorothy Mills, Brother in Law Robert Mills, Brother Harold Sodamann and his wife Arlene, an infant great granddaughter and great granddaughter Emily Bremenkamp.

Visitation will be on Sunday September 8, 2019 from 1-5PM and the family will be present to greet friends and family from 3-5PM at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside Service will be on Monday September 9, 2019 at 10:00AM at Liberal Cemetery with Pastor Rex Petty presiding.
