Erika J. Soto-Zapata Ramirez

Erika J. Soto-Zapata Ramirez, age 37, died Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born September 4, 1985, in Dr. Arroyo NL Mexico, the daughter of Juan Luis Soto and Alma Rosa Zapata. 

Erika grew up in Mexico. After graduating from high school, she earned an accountant degree which she used while living in Mexico. In 2006, she moved to the United States. She married Carlos Ramirez at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. Erika was a devoted and loving wife and mother; her family was her whole world. After having her morning cups of coffee in her favorite place, she turned her attention to her family. She supported and attended all their sports and activities. Erika enjoyed making tik tok videos with her daughters, playing games with her kids, cooking for her family, singing and listening to music. She also enjoyed the time she spent babysitting her nieces and nephews. Erika will be remembered as being a loving person and always putting others before herself. She was a member of the Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Erika is survived by her husband, Carlos Ramirez; children, Carlos Jr., Lluvia M., Liliana M. and Gabriella Sofia Ramirez all of the home; mother, Alma Rosa Soto of Monterey, Mexico; sister, Laura Marisol Zapata Herrera of Monterey, Mexico; and other family members and friends.

  

Erika is preceded in death by her father, grandfather and uncles.

Rosary will be Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 7:00 PM and Funeral Mass will be Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10:00 AM both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Charles Seiwert officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to Erika Judith Soto-Zapata Ramirez Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
