Earlene Townsley

Earlene Townsley, age 83, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born September 19, 1928 the daughter of Earl and Jessie (Dobbins) Cullins.

Earlene, a homemaker, grew up in Coleman, Texas. After she graduated from Mozelle High School, she married O.B. Townsley on November 2, 1947 in Coleman. As a member of the Blue Bells Auxiliary, Earlene was very dedicated with her time and love at the hospital and nursing home in Boise City, Oklahoma for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Church of Christ were she taught Sunday school for many years. Earlene enjoyed growing a garden, with her boy’s help, and painting. She enjoyed her birdbath and the visiting birds of many species.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Townsley and wife Karen of Keyes, Oklahoma, Clint Townsley and wife Jendy of Canyon, Texas; two brothers, Buddy Cullins of Coleman, Texas, Jimmy Cullins of Marlin, Texas; one sister, Lois Pate of Sweetwater, Texas; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Earlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, O.B.; brother, Arnold Cullins; and grandson, Nic Townsley.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at2:00 PM at the Church of Christ in Boise City, Oklahoma with Ministers Marlin Woods, Don Lawrence and John Henley officiating. Burial will follow at the Boise City Cemetery in Boise City, Oklahoma. Memorials may be given to the Church of Christ in Boise City in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
