Earl Patton “Pat” Robinson

Earl Patton “Pat” Robinson, 77, of Tyrone passed away February 7, 2013 at his home.

Pat was born October 16, 1935 in Graham, Texas, the son of Yancy and Cleo Patton Robinson. They lived in Eliasville, Texas then McLeod, Texas before the family moved to Tyrone, Oklahoma in 1950, living at the new gas plant north of town. Pat attended school and graduated from Tyrone High School with the Class of 1954. After graduation he attended Panhandle State A&M College in Goodwell, Oklahoma.

On August 6, 1955 at the Tyrone Baptist Church, Pat was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Stalcup. They made their home in Hooker and Pat worked at the Tyrone Gas Plant. Later he worked for the City of Tyrone before he started at National Helium on January 1, 1963. He started as a plant operator and moved up to become shift supervisor. He retired on January 1, 1993.

He enjoyed quail hunting, training bird dogs, guiding bird hunts and being with family. He was a Seward County Saint fan; enjoyed watching the Tyrone Bobcats and a special treat was watching anything that his grand kids were involved in. Daily he enjoyed being with friends as they drank coffee together

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Shirley on April 11, 1973.

Survivors include his son, Richard Robinson of Tyrone, Oklahoma and daughter, Leigh Ann Martin and husband Tom of Turpin, Oklahoma; a brother, Bill Robinson of Granbury, Texas; four grandchildren Laci Martin of Wichita, Kansas, Lexi Martin of Turpin, Oklahoma, Bethani and Cade McIntire of Turpin; two nieces, Becky Wright and husband Tom of Ft Worth, Texas and Lisa Necker and husband Ed of Stephenville, Texas; grand niece, Emily Necker and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Tyrone Baptist Church in Tyrone, Oklahoma with Rev. Ed Necker officiating. Interment will be in the Tyrone Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker, Oklahoma.
