Donald L. Komarek

Donald L. Komarek, 86, Liberal, KS, died Saturday, December 10, 2011,
at Wheatridge Park Care Center, Liberal, KS.

He was born June 9, 1925 in Ellinwood, KS, the son of
Henry & Emma Schmidt Komarek.

Donald graduated high school at Ellinwood, KS in 1943 and entered
the US Army Air Corps, a veteran of World War II. He was a mechanic,
working in the oilfield in Plainview, KS. He moved to Liberal in 1962
working for Waukeshu Engine Equipment (Pamco) . Donald then worked
for Jayhawk Pipeline and retired in 1994.

On February 4, 1945, he married Juanita P. Boggs at Alexandria, LA,
she survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Sharon Cook and husband
Melvin, Liberal, KS; Donita Box and husband David, Liberal, KS;
seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand-
child. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers,
six sisters, a son Ronald Douglas Komarek, a grandson Scott A Cook.

Vigil service will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Miller Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. James P. Dieker officiating.

Interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be sent to St Anthony Catholic
Church Building Fund in care of the mortuary.
