Don G. Fisher

Don G. Fisher, age 74, of Elkhart , Kansas died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the Morton County Hospital in Elkhart , Kansas . He was born November 3, 1936 in Texas County , Oklahoma the son of George G. and Sylvia M. (Mitchell) Fisher.

Don graduated from Elkhart High School and went to college in Kansas City for two years before returning to Oklahoma Panhandle State University where he graduated. A lifelong resident of Morton County , Don was a farmer and rancher until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed spending time with is family.

He married Georgia Smith on September 21, 1957 at Elkhart , Kansas . She preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Kenton Fisher of Saugas, Massachusetts, and Garold Fisher and wife Melanie of Elkhart, Kansas; two daughters, Brenda Ratzlaff and husband Wade of Rolla, Kansas, and Rhonda Rich of Rolla, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Staci LaRae Ratzlaff, Dotti G. Ratzlaff, Mica Don Ratzlaff, Matti LaRae Rich, Koda Dean Rich, Kati Ann Rich, Braelen Fisher, Dillon Fisher, Konner Fisher; one step-grandson, Nicholas Wuestit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, George G. Fisher Jr., and Gerold Fisher, and one sister, Deloris Jean Fisher.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas with Pastor Keith Davis officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart, Kansas.
