Denise Lopez Gonzalez: UPDATE

Denise Lopez Gonzalez, age 50, of Hooker, Oklahoma died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at her parent’s home in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born March 5, 1963 in Tulia, Texas, the daughter of Domingo and Rachael (Sanchez) Lopez. Denise came to Ulysses at the age of 4. She attended Ulysses schools. She worked at IBP in Holcomb and Sea Board Farms. She has lived in Hooker the last 13 years. Denise was currently employed at Hooker Elementary School as a teacher’s aide for kindergarten. She also taught ESL in Hooker. Denise was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Hooker, Oklahoma. She married Alfredo Gonzalez, he survives. Other survivors include her son, Alfredo Gonzalez Jr. of Hooker, Oklahoma; parents, Domingo and Rachel Lopez of Ulysses, Kansas; sisters, Carmen Orosco of Ulysses, Kansas, Grace Chavez of Ulysses, Kansas, Amanda Sierra of Johnson, Kansas, Stephanie Barrios of Ulysses, Kansas; aunts, and uncles. Memorial service will be held from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor Manuel P. Perez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas.
