Delmer Ray Plunk, 74, of Turpin, Oklahoma passed away September 1, 2018 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas

Delmer was born May 14, 1944 in Liberal, Kansas, the son of Clifton Eber and Rena Mae Lewis Plunk. He lived on the family farm south of Baker, Oklahoma and attended Eureka Schools graduating from Eureka High School with the Class of 1962. He then attended Panhandle A & M in Goodwell, Oklahoma also Northwestern State College in Alva, Oklahoma.

After his father died he came back home and took over the farming on the family farm. He also worked for Baker Construction.

Delmer was united in marriage to Nelmalee Burch on June 6, 1975. In the Spring of 2008 Leona Miller became his wife.

Delmer was a very active member of the Baker and Turpin Communities. He loved his grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews.

He was a member of both the Baker and Turpin United Methodist Church and was active in the Turpin Booster Club as well as the Turpin Senior Citizens where he enjoyed dancing with the Happy Steppers Dance Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Vernetta and brother Glen as well as a grandson, Jared and the mother of his children, Nelmalee Plunk.

Delmer is survived by Leona Miller of Turpin; two sons, Gaylen Plunk of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mike and Robin Miller of Enid, Oklahoma; five daughters, Glenda and Gerald Willard of Maryville, Tennessee, Pam Ichiyasu of Salina, Kansas, Vicki Burch of Buda, Texas, Kay and James Jackle of Turpin, Oklahoma, Paula and Jerry Bales of Guymon, Oklahoma; two brothers, Rondal and Leslie Plunk of Wichita, Kansas, Terry and Mary Jane Plunk of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two sisters, Norma and Earl Rook of Liberal, Kansas, Doneva Jean and Randy Parr of Houston, Texas; brother in law, David Clampitt of Llano, Texas; seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 am Thursday September 6, 2018 at the Turpin United Methodist Church in Turpin, Oklahoma with Pastor Reece Player officiating. Interment will be in the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal, Kansas directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Turpin Senior Citizens Center or the Turpin United Methodist Church and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma, 73945.
