David Lynn Mitchell, age 70, died on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
He was born on December 20, 1955, in Sherman, Texas, to Earl Dean and Evelyn Joan (McEntire) Mitchell. David was of Cherokee, English, Scottish Irish decent.
David graduated from high school and attended college for two years. He worked as a parts manager for Harley-Davidson for 20+ years. An avid photographer, David was also known for rescuing stray cats. He enjoyed watching old western movies, riding his Harley, participating in charity fundraisers, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sister Judy Gill of Amarillo, Texas and
Numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Joan Mitchell,
Sister Jamie Lou Mitchell, and
Brother-in-law, Fred Gill.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
Graveside Services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 26, 2026, at Restlawn Cemetery.
