He was born May 13, 1954 in Port Arthur, Texas the son of Floyd Samuel and Avis (Whitehead) Swartzbaugh.

He has been a longtime resident of the Tyrone, OK area. He was a self-employed owning D&J Escort Service before becoming disabled.
