Curtis Lee Brooks: UPDATE

Curtis Lee Brooks, 59, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, 25th of July in 2013 at the Satanta Long Term Care Unit in Satanta, KS. Curtis was born to Alfred (Sam) Brooks and Gwendolyn June (Hockensmith) Brooks on November 24, 1953. He was born in Liberal, KS. He spent much of his childhood in the Moscow area. Curtis also grew up in Kismet, KS and attended Southwestern Heights and graduated from Liberal High School. Curtis also attended Liberal Vo-tech and studied horticulture and drafting.

He moved in Hooker, OK where he became a business partner with Donnie Knier named "Structural Designers ". Curtis was a premier building contractor in southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandle. He was very sought after for his talent.

He was very faithful in his belief in God and loved sharing that with everyone who would like to listen. He has two sons, Justin Brooks of Wichita and Joshua Brooks of Oklahoma City, OK. He has 3 grandchildren, Shay Brooks, Max Brooks and Andrew Greener

Curtis is survived by his sons, his mother June Brooks, an older brother Perry Brooks and his wife Pat of Kismet, KS, a younger brother Trent Brooks and his wife Paula of Hooker, OK, and younger sisters Trena Slater and her husband Keith of Sublette and Tonya Thompson and her husband Orb of Plains, KS.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, his father Sam Brooks and a brother Jerry Vee Brooks, plus many beloved friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Rev. Les Bussell officiating. Inurnment of the cremains will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker, Oklahoma.
