Clarissa Cepeda Calderon, age 24, died Friday, March 4, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on October 31, 1998, in Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Luis Carlos and Margarita (Cepeda) Ornelas.

Clarissa grew up in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School. While in high school, she enjoyed playing sports and was a cheerleader. After high school, Clarissa attended Garden City Community College. She was currently working at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital as a receptionist in the Physical Therapy Department. She also worked part-time at El Ranchito Cafe. Clarissa enjoyed gaming, singing, dancing, swimming, riding motorcycles and horses, camping and being outdoors. A very spiritual person, she was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and member of the youth group.

Clarissa is survived by her mother, Margarita Cepeda and husband Miguel Galindo of Ulysses; father, Luis Ornelas and wife Yesenia of Ulysses; brother, Christian Ornelas of Ulysses; step-sister, Noemi Martinez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandparents, Margarita Calderon of Mexico, and Nicolas Cepeda of Mexico; aunts, uncles and cousins.
  
Clarissa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jose Luis Ornelas and Esperanza Garcia; and cousin, Itzel Guaderrama. 

Rosary will be Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 7:00 PM and Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 2:00 PM both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Charles Seiwert officiating. Funeral Mass will be live streamed on Garnand Funeral Home facebook page. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, and Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be given to Clarissa Calderon Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
