Charles Swank

Charles J, Swank, 82, Liberal, KS, died Monday, March 14, 2011,
at Satanta District Hospital, Satanta, KS .

He was born June 1, 1928 at Fall River, KS , the son of
Ezekal & Irene Leonard Swank.

He graduated high school and attended college for two years.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U S Army.
Charlie moved to Liberal in 1951 and started the Swank Painting,
which he and his wife operated over fifty years. He loved working
on cars and drag racing.

He waw a member of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma .

On February 10, 1952, he married Anna M. Hart at Clayton, NM ,
she died January 7, 2011.

He is survived by one son Jimmie Swank and wife Karen, Liberal, KS;
one daughter, Charlotte Ward and husband Gabe, Liberal, KS;
one sister, Mary Underwood, Liberal, KS; four grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00pm at Lutheran Church of the Good
Shepherd , with Rev. Dr. Stephen Saville, presiding.

Interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 1-8 P.M. Saturday and
Sunday, 9-11 A.M. Monday.
