Charles E. Seabolt, age 82, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.

 

He was born on February 20, 1938 in Ramona, Oklahoma son of John Everett and Freida Lawson Seabolt of Cherokee Indian decent.

 

Charles graduated from Norton High School.

He married Ardine Dierks on April 28, 1979 at the Lutheran Church in Liberal, Kansas.

Charles worked for Panhandle Eastern for 38 years performing may functions for the company starting at entry level and working his way to supervisor. After retiring he worked for the city of Kismet as recycling engineer and supervisor performing any and all maintenance tasks.

He worked on the Kismet Volunteer Fire Department which he helped establish. Charles also worked as Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Seward County Sheriff Office and belonged to the Lions Club.

Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, grilling and smoking food. He was also very talented carpenter. He could fix anything and built his own house.

His wife, Ardine Seabolt

Son, Charles W. (Jodi) Seabolt of Ulysses, Kansas

Daughter, Brenda (Rick) Rice of Kismet, Kansas

Stepson, JC (Peggy) Guettsche of Sand Springs, Oklahoma

Stepson, Randy (Amanda) Daugherty of Cheney, Kansas

Stepdaughter, Debra (Gary) Jones of Liberal, Kansas

Two brothers, Carl (Linda) Seabolt of Binkleman, Nebraska

William (Lorretta) Seabolt of Colony, Kansas

And many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents, John and Frieda Seabolt, two sisters, Delores and Joyce.

 

Memorial Service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, December 28, 2020 officiated by JC Guettsche at the Hornung Family Funeral Service 1212 W. 2nd Street Liberal, Kansas.

Interment will follow at the Kismet Cemetery in Kismet, Kansas service officiated by Bob Deacon.

The family request casual dress.

We respectfully require masks.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kismet Public Library.
