Billy “Bill” L. Francis

Billy “Bill” L. Francis 59, died, Monday at his residence in Liberal, KS.

He was born July 1, 1954 in Gallup New Mexico the son of James L. and Evelyn Grace (Hamlin) Francis. He spent his childhood in Gants, New Mexico and graduating from Grants Senior High School in 1972. He attended DeVey Institute of Technology graduating in 1974 as an Electronics Technician. He and his wife also own and manage’s the Beaver Motel in Beaver, OK.

He traveled the United States for 6 years work for GTE-Lenkurt installing Telcom Systems.

He moved to Liberal in 1981 and was employed with Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company for 15 years and later became a Instrumentation and Electrical Tech for KN Energy, now known as Oneok Field Services and working for them for the past 15 years, until his death.

He enjoyed coaching with Kids Inc. program and was a Cub Master of Pack 73 and assistant Scout Master of Troop 73. He also was involved with “That Liberal Band” where he had served as President and Vice President for several years.

On April 11, 1981 he married Carol Ann House in Grants, New Mexico. She survives.

2 grandchildren Christian Butler-Francis and Brenden Bralley

Preceded in death by his father James L. Francis and brother in law Ernest Serna.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday at the First Baptist Church. Burial will take place in Liberal Cemetery.

Visitation time will be 9am to 8pm Wednesday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
