Albert M. Kidder, age 84, passed away early Sunday morning, November 1, 2020, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.

He was born November 26, 1935, at Garner, Colorado, the son of Roy H. and Rosetta (Wright) Kidder.  As a young boy he attended school in Westcliff, Colorado, later graduating from Westcliff High School.  After his graduation, he began his career in agriculture.

On May 21, 1955, he married Marileen O’Bleness at Raton, New Mexico.  In 1962, the couple moved to Plains, Kansas, and Al began working for the Gano Horace Elevator which later became Co-Op.  He eventually oversaw three Co-Op locations as manager for many years.

He is a member of the Plains United Methodist Church; a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge, serving as a past master; the Order of Eastern Star, past worthy patron; the Lions Club; and the Elks Club.

He enjoys woodworking, hunting, fishing, traveling, square dancing, working with his magical pliers, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marileen of Plains; four daughters, Anita Jo Rodenberg and husband Lindell of Liberal, Kansas, Cindy Sue Stegman and husband Alexander of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Barbara Kay McCune and husband Scot of rural Meade, Kansas, and Dana Marie Borth and husband Jerry of rural Plains, Kansas; a brother, Bill Kidder of Collbran, Colorado; three sisters, Eleanor Hubbel of Grand Junction, Colorado, Ruth Eggleston of Hillside, Colorado, Mary Ann Hayes of Hugo, Colorado; thirteen grandchildren, Dawn, Justin, Mason, Elaina, Lynell, Vanessa, Monica, Alicia, Julia, Mike, Brandon, Jenilee, and Jacob; and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernon Kidder and Jim Kidder; and a sister, Delores Noe.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at the Plains Cemetery, Plains.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Interment will follow in the Plains Cemetery, Plains.

The family would welcome memorials to the Plains United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
