Redskins boys golf came to a close Wednesday after Kale Miller completed his second day at state in Mayetta. He is the first LHS golfer to make it to day 2 of the state tournament since it went to a two day format. He turned in one of his best rounds of the year with a 75 and was Tied for 16th after the first day. Day 2 got off to a rough start with a tee ball that found the hazard and had trouble building positive momentum the rest of the round and finished with an 89 and 47th place finish. Kale had a very successful and solid sophomore season. He was able to check off multiple goals for the season after winning, being first team all conference, and qualifying for day 2. This summer will be a big summer for him as he plays more tournaments and continues to get competitive tournament reps. He’s a leader on this team and the rest follow what he is doing. With his work ethic and the way he pushes himself will help the rest follow. I think we will have a lot more guys trying to get better during the summer than normal and we will be in a better place in March next year when the season gets started.
