Midland Hands Lady Saints First Loss

It was all Midland Thursday night in the Chaparral Center in Midland.  Thirteenth ranked Lady Chaps beat number five Seward 71-58 in the opening round of the WNIT.
Midland jumped all over the Lady Saints 12-0 and 22-9 before leading 22-11 after one quarter.  Midland led 45-28 and led 45-30 at halftime.  Midland led by as many as 26 in the second half before SCCC out paced Midland 17-4 in the fourth quarter.
Seward struggled in several facets of the game.  The Lady Chaparrals out rebounded Seward 46-34.  Seward shot just 27.5 percent from the field.  Both teams committed 19 turnovers.  Midland led points in the paint 26-12.
The Lady Saints were led by Karolina Szydlowska’s 13 points.  Leilani Augmon has 12.  Ayanna Smith pulled down seven rebounds.
Seward is 4-1 and Midland is 7-1.  The Lady Saints play #19 Salt Lake Friday at 3 with Saints Shootaround at 2:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
