*7th grade from Coaches Kachel & Richards *-
7th A team played their best game so far this season only losing 23-19
tonight against Guymon. It was a great team effort with Jovanny Lopez
scoring 5, Barragan with 2, Gomez with 5, Chavez with 5, and Sandoval with
2. Much better competition this go around for only our second game.

7th B played a tough game as well, with not allowing Guymon to score at all
the first quarter and some of the players hitting threes in the game to
keep it fun the whole game through. Jovante Andrade hit 3, with a total
of 4 points, Daniel Camacho hit 3, and Manuel Lemus hit 2 tonight for us.
The guys played tough the whole game.

*8B from Coach Shelby – *
In their opening game of the season, Seymour Rogers struggled to get much
going on offense in the first half, trailing 19-2 at intermission. However
the offense for SRMS did get a few things working in the second half with
Izzy Archulete, Alexis Galindo, and Abel Aguirre all scoring. After a
competitive third quarter, Guymon pulled away in the fourth, winning 37 –
9.

*8A from Coach Watt – *
The Apaches took back to the floor on Thursday evening to battle the Guymon
Tigers. A back and forth clash would ensue, one that came down to the wire.
The Apaches had a huge bounce back from their loss on Tuesday, but came up
just shy in the final seconds, falling 30-35. It was a team effort, with
many players coming off the bench and contributing in a big way due to
players in foul trouble and needing breathers. Adrian Garcia came off the
bench and hit three three-pointers, Abel Aguirre shut down Guymon’s best
post, Orlando Munoz’s defense and aggression was critical, and Ishmael
Archuleta stepped up when his number was called. Jakyrie Washington led all
scorers with 11 points and played all 24 minutes in the contest.. The
Apaches will travel to Hugoton Tuesday before beginning MSWAC play on
Thursday in Dodge City.

Thursday night the Eisenhower Boys 8th grade basketball hosted the Horace Good Hawks in a MSWAC opening game.

The Hawks started the first half shooting well cashing in on 5 three pointers. The Warriors were able to keep pace while trailing 20-25 at the half.
The Warriors applied more pressure to open the third and the defensive onslaught proved effective as they rattled 8 straight points to lead 28-25. The Warriors kept up the pressure as the Hawks shooting cooled off.  Eisenhower outscored Horace Good 24-10 in the second to take the game 44-35. The Warriors are now 3-0 on the season.
Leading the attack was Richard Forbes 21 (season high) Landon Martinez 9, Jadon Sautter 8 while Alex Schwindt, Alfonso Relles and Marco Alonso each added 2 points apiece. Jadon Sautter added 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocked shots.  Team stats included 29 rebounds, 7 assists, 11 steals and 6 blocked shots.
I’m pleased with how the boys responded in the second half with a sense of urgency. They stepped up their intensity and finished shots.
The Warriors take a break from action this next week.
